Teams get stuck in a false sense of comfort\u2014even when change could deliver greater customer value or improve team dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-5\" id=\"ember57\">How Does It Hurt Team Performance?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6\">\n<li><strong>\ud83d\udcc9 Stagnation over improvement<\/strong>: Without willingness to evolve, teams miss out on techniques that could improve efficiency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\ud83d\ude10 Lower motivation<\/strong>: When everything is done \u201cjust because,\u201d people lose interest in innovation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\ud83e\uddf1 Resistance to feedback<\/strong>: Even when stakeholders\/customers suggest improvements, the team pushes back with \u201cwe\u2019re used to this\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7 wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember59\">This mindset runs counter to core Agile principles: <em>inspect &#038; adapt, continuous improvement, and embracing change<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-8\" id=\"ember60\">How Can Scrum Teams Overcome Status Quo Bias?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9 wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember61\">\u2705 <strong>Introduce change gradually<\/strong> Frame changes as time-bound experiments\u2014e.g., \u201clet\u2019s try this for one sprint.\u201d This lowers resistance and allows the team to experience the benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-10 wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember62\">\u2705 <strong>Make retrospectives count<\/strong> Don\u2019t let them become routine. Ask questions like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-11\">\n<li><em>\u201cWhy are we doing things this way?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cIf we were starting from scratch, what would we do differently?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cWhat could we improve, even if it\u2019s working?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-12 wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember64\">\u2705 <strong>Showcase the value of change<\/strong> Highlight specific cases where change led to positive outcomes\u2014either from your own team or others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-13 wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember65\">\u2705 <strong>Foster a culture of curiosity<\/strong> Create a safe space for questions and experimentation.
